In Estonia, the citizens of Russia and Belarus, who continue to live in the country, have lost their voting rights in local elections. Estonian president Alar Caris approved the law to introduce appropriate change to the country’s constitution. It was reported by the state head of the state on Wednesday, April 9.
“The decision according to which only the citizens of Estonia and the European Union countries can vote in the local election is certainly legitimate,” Caris said.
On March 26, the Parliament of Estonia adopted a document on the constitutional changes, eliminating the votes of Russian and Belarus vote rights living in the country.
