The Ministry of Agriculture reports that the equipment will be sufficient to maintain this year’s harvest at current export rates: the grain can be stored in bags for 12-17 months.
Special equipment for temporary storage of grain crops will be imported into Ukraine. This was announced by Taras Vysotsky, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, at a press conference on Ukrinform.
“We have confirmation from international partners about further imports of large bags holding 200,000 tonnes each and equipment for loading and unloading. It is estimated an additional 10-15 million tonnes of grain. We plan to start method of distribution in August, “said Vysotsky.
According to Vysotsky, the cost of this equipment is enough to maintain this year’s harvest at current export rates: the grain can be stored in bags for 12-17 months.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine predicts that by 2022 the harvest of grain crops will be approximately 52 million tons and oilseeds-13-15 million tons.
Recall that in June Ukraine increased grain exports by a quarter. 2.17 million tons of grains, leguminous, oilseeds and products of their processing were exported, which is 470 thousand tons, or 25% more than in May.
It was also reported that in July Ukraine began exporting grain through ports on the Danube River, which flows along the Romanian border. At the same time, a jam of ships quickly formed near the mouth of the river.
