Alexander Sirski especially said today: the front, our presence in Kurshchin and our presence in the Belgorod region. We continue active actions in the border regions of the enemy, and this is absolutely fair – the war should return to where it came from, ”said Zelensky.
This is the first public confirmation at the highest level about the stay of Ukrainian units in the Belgorod region.
According to the President of Ukraine, the purpose of these actions is to protect Ukrainian settlements in neighboring regions Sumi and Harkiv, which are regularly fired.
On March 18, the Ministry of Defense of Russia, following the leading bloggers, said that the armed forces made “an attempt to attach units of the Armed Forces to the territory of Russia in the western part of the Belgorod region in the direction of the settlements of Demidovka and Plaissia.”
On the same day, journalists asked Zelensky a question whether Ukraine conducts operations in the Belgorod region. The President of Ukraine replied:
