Brussels declined the application for financing in early March, the border service of Lithuania Tala.
The European Union has refused Lithuania and Estonia to finance the project “Directors’ walls” to them to protect their boundaries. This is said by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Lithuania, the local broadcaster LRT reports.
Estonian and Lithuanian Border Services filed a joint application for EU financing to form “Wall of Drones” along the border, but the project refused to fund.
“Estonia is the main applicant, and Lithuania is a partner,” the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense said.
Lithuania’s border service, in turn, said Brussels rejected the application for financing in early March.
Remember that last year in May of the Baltic region, they agreed to create “walls of drones” to protect their external boundaries with the help of UAVs.
Later, in November, the Police Department and Estonia’s border guard said he plans to build a “wall from drones” to have a complete picture where drones fly on the border with Russia and the country’s big cities.
