To rent a one -room apartment in Spain costs 700 to 950 euros per month. For a three -room room you need to pay about 1,100 – 1,500 euros.

In various cities of Spain, demonstrations were held with a request to reduce rent for 50% housing and banning evacuation from poor families’ apartments. On Saturday, April 5, the RTVE Public Broadcaster reported.

According to organizers, from 100,000 to 150,000 people took part in Madrid in Madrid. Under the slogan, the “End the Housing Business” protesters walked the city’s main streets.

“We ask for an unlimited rent so we don’t have to leave our places, our homes or our cities every five or seven years,” said Madrid Valery Cancer, a tenant’s trade union representative.

He called half a million families whose contracts for apartments and homes expired in 2025, in protest to remain in housing.

There was no more mass in a Barcelona demonstration, which, according to the organizers, gathered 100 thousand people.

The protests also took place in Andalusia, Galicia, Valencia, Castile-La-Manche, Mursia and other Spanish regions.

According to the Bank of Spain, for the re -placement of citizens, half a million homes are required. The country’s government has prepared a housing law, focusing on the available lease and control of short -term rentals, including renting for tourists.

The first family of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) on February 6 passed the appointment and received the subsidy appointment for housing subsidies.
