The commander of US land forces in Europe and Africa, General Christopher Donahu, expressed gratitude to the Lithuanian allies.
“We relied on them, and they, along with the Polish and Estonian allies, as well as our sailors, pilots and engineering corps specialists, helped us find and restore our soldiers home. It was a tragic event, but it emphasized what it meant to have allies and friends,” said.
