For the first time in history, Ukraine became a world leader in the pure export of frozen raspberries, overtaking Poland and the long -term leader of this segment – Serbia. In 2024, the Ukrainian export of frozen raspberries reached a record 65 thousand tons, which is 34% more than a year earlier.
Over the past three seasons, Ukraine doubled the supply of frozen raspberries abroad. Instead, Serbia retained the previous export, and Poland reduced them by 24%. An important factor in the leadership of Ukraine is that it practically does not import raspberries, while Poland and Serbia are buying significant volumes for a further repeated carrier.
But many Ukrainian companies still sell raw materials as raw materials that Polish processors clarify, pack and export at a higher price.
Over the past three calendar years, the export of frozen raspberries from Ukraine to Germany increased 4.5 times to the Czech Republic – 4.2 times to Austria – 33 times and in France – twice. Also in 2024, Ukraine first sent more than 2 thousand tons of raspberries to the markets of Belgium, Italy and Lithuania.
In addition, Ukraine continues to dynamically increase the export of frozen raspberries to Canada and US markets, which pay much more than importers from the European Union. At the same time, Ukraine, which three years ago did not supply products to these countries at all, are currently often ahead of the exports of competitors from Poland.
From the unusual export of frozen raspberries, one can note the supply of commercial parties of Ukrainian products to Argentina and Saudi Arabia.
Given the high level of raspberries in the previous season, according to Eastfruit analysts, in the 2025 calendar year and in the 2025/25 season, it is worth expecting that the RASPBERRY exports from Ukraine and further strengthen its leadership. In particular, in 2025, Ukraine can overtake Serbia in terms of total export of frozen raspberries.
The development of own processing will allow Ukraine to maintain value added in the country and increase the average export price.
