The US Institute of World is engaged in negotiations with peace agreements and helps countries and regions affected by wars in achieving peaceful regulating and restoration.
Donald Trump’s administration fired almost all employees of the US Institute (USIP) headquarters. On Saturday, March 29, the Washington Post reported reference to the organization’s employees.
According to publication resources, from 200 to 300 employees were removed, which is the majority of the institute’s headquarters. The masses’ expulsions took place less than two weeks after the President of the Institute of the World was replaced by the Department of Excellence of the Public Administration (DOGE), led by a billionaire and colleague of Trump Ilon Musk.
Institute employees reported that they were offered an allowance over the weekend and a month of additional medical insurance in exchange for the signature on the right not to file a lawsuit.
Many employees have filed the lawsuit, focusing that the Trump administration does not have the authority to liquidate the institution created by the legislative branch by congressional authorities. The hearing, according to the publication, was scheduled for the end of April.
According to the WP, the US Institute has about 600 employees worldwide.
The USIP has been operating since 1984 to study and promote diplomatic ways to resolve conflicts, funded by Congress to maintain independence.
It is known that the Trump administration has already had the majority of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in the framework of the large -scale reorganization conducted by the DOGE. So far, the remaining employees according to Reuters have suggested to select one of the two dates of dismissal: July 1 or September 2, 2025.
Remember that the US State Department after a revision, which lasted for six weeks, canceled 83% of all USAID programs.
