The International Development Agency (USAID) expects reorganization.
The State Department of the United States announced the official closure of USAID and told Congress that he transferred part of the agency reorganization. Programs that do not comply with the Donald Trump administration will be closed. This is indicated in the official statement of the State Department.
It is noted that important programs for saving life and strategic investments will be left, which are strengthened by American partners and America itself. Nevertheless, the statement did not indicate which programs were discussed.
The reorganization of the agency is planned to be completed on July 1 of this year.
Unfortunately, USAID has long left its original mission. As a result, the profit was too small, and the costs were too high, the statement said.
It is known that USAID is an international development agency founded in 1961. It has regional missions in Central and South Africa, Asia, in the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean and Europe.
Recall, on March 10, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the United States will cancel 83% of USAID programs. The remaining 18% of the programs (approximately 1 thousand contracts) will be controlled by DOGE, which is controlled by Elon Musk. In total, 5 thousand 200 contracts were canceled.
The decision to reduce the programs of the US agency for international development was made after a 6-week review.
