The James Webba space telescope photographed the so -called Einstein Ring – a phenomenon when the light from a distant galaxy is distorted under the influence of gravity of a powerful object, in this case, another galaxy.
What seems to be one galaxy is, in fact, two are very far from each other! Closer is located in the center of the image, while a more distant galaxy seems to have turned around it – the phenomenon that we call the Einstein ring, a photograph on the telescope page on Instagram.
It is noted that through this phenomenon of light from a distant galaxy, which otherwise would pass in a straight line, follow the bend of gravitationally curved space-time, increasing light behind the galaxy and acting as a kind of natural magnifying glass. Einstein predicted this effect in his theory of relativity.
