Ukraine can deploy “restrained forces” in Ukraine.
French President Emmanuel Macron told about this at a press conference after a meeting with the coalition of those who want, reports Skynews.
It is noted that the term “restraint” is significantly different from the “peacekeeping forces”, which have been discussed so far. According to Macron, this idea was put forward by the United Kingdom and France at the request of Ukraine.
Macron noted that the “forces of restraint” are still at the planning stage, and it is expected that their creation will become the result of the efforts of several countries. The “restraint forces” will not be on the contact line – they will be deployed in “strategic areas”.
Macron noted that not all countries expressed a desire to participate in this operation.
This is not unanimous, ”he said. – We do not need a unanimous to achieve this.
These restrained forces should not replace the peacekeeping forces with a clash line or a strong and reliable Ukrainian army, ”he added, noting that this issue still needs further discussions.
