It will be possible to cancel European sanctions against Russia under several conditions.
The European Union established a condition for the abolition of anti -Russian sanctions. Moscow must remove all its troops from the territory of Ukraine. This is one of the main conditions for possible changes or the abolition of EU sanctions. This was stated on March 26 by the representative of the European Commission, reports Reuters.
According to the official, Brussels are two more sanctions for the Kremlin for another six months and, thus, confirm his position on the issue of aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
The end of the Russian unreasonable and unjustified aggression in Ukraine and the unconditional withdrawal of all Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine will be one of the key conditions for changing or canceling sanctions, the European Commission said.
Meanwhile, the British edition of the Financial Times reported that the European Union rejected Russia’s demand about the ceasefire in exchange for eliminating sanctions.
It is known that a change in sanctions requires the unanimity of all 27 states of the EU member states. This is complicated by the question of canceling restrictions, because each member has a veto.
We recall that on March 14, the ambassadors of the European Union agreed to continue sanctions on about 2000 citizens of the Russian Federation until September 15, 2025. The list includes the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and many senior politicians and businessmen.
