Naftogaz borrows hundreds of millions of euros to buy gas.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development approved a loan for Naftogaz in the amount of up to 270 million euros. This money should buy natural gas over the next two heating seasons. Prime Minister Denis Schmigal announced this on March 26.
In addition, about 140 million euros of grants from the Norway government will be sent via EBRD.
The head of the cabinet noted that this money will help the government to accumulate gas reserves in underground gas institutions over the next season of heating.
Recall that in February, Reuters, referring to a high source in the industry, said that thanks to Russian shots in the gas supply industry, Ukraine lost 40% of gas production. For their compensation, Ukraine plans to import up to 800 million cubic meters. m of gas from Europe in February and March.
