Sweden, along with the partners, needs specific proposals to further promote negotiations with Kyiv.
Sweden and the North Baltic countries have called on the European Commission to speed up the Ukraine entry process into the EU. This was known by the Sweden Embassy in Ukraine on Sunday, March 23.
The corresponding request was submitted by ministers to EU issues of these states.
Diplomats emphasized that Hungary should not be confined to Ukraine membership negotiations. The decision was a response to the statement by Hungarian Foreign Ministry head Peter Siyarteo, who confirmed Budapest’s intent to hinder this process.
In contact with the European Commission, Sweden, along with the partners, requires specific proposals to further promote negotiations with Kyiv.
Earlier, Siyarteo emphasized that Hungary will block Ukraine’s entry into the EU until Ukraine restores the rights of the Hungarians living in Transcarpathia, “selected in 2015”. The head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry expanded the application after a telephone conversation with his Austrian colleague who beat the Minl-Rizinger.
According to the Hungarian Minister, he discussed with the Austrian foreign policy leader the subject of the “ongoing violation of the rights” of the Hungarian community and the goals of European integration of Ukraine.
According to him, it is “completely opposed to the general policies and values of Europe.”
It should be noted that Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orban continues to oppose the adoption of Ukraine in the European Union. In the list of 12 requirements for Brussels, he said the EU should be a “union, but no Ukraine.
Earlier, he announced an advisory nationwide survey to support Ukraine’s entry into the EU.
Some of the European countries are encouraged to accelerate Ukraine’s entry into the EU
