The conversation between American President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will be expected next week. This was said by the special letter of US President Steve Witkoff in an interview with CNN on Sunday, March 16.
When the journalist asked about the terms of concluding an agreement with a Truce in Ukraine, in particular, if it was a week or, maybe in the months, Vitkoff replied that Trump used the word “week”.
The special offender of the US president also expressed hope that the real development of this matter will be achieved in the near future.
“I believe that everyone should focus on the development that has been managed to achieve from the moment the President’s inauguration. There is no expectation of rapid progress,” he said.
Vitcoff also added that the war situation in Ukraine was extremely complicated, but, according to him, however, the United States reduced the gap between the two sides.
“There are still many questions for the discussion, but I think the two presidents will have a great and constructive conversation this week,” he said.
The US President’s special representative said he had four meetings with Putin, and that this conversation was “positive.” On the question of whether there is a request from Russia to Ukraine regarding the abandonment of temporary occupied territories, Vitkoff replied that “the discussions are ongoing.”
“Four regions are critical of our discussions. We talk to Ukraine, we talk to European countries such as France, Great Britain, Norway, Finland. We talk to Russians about these regions. We are also talking about all other parts of the potential stop,” he said.
