A strange atmosphere, where solemnity and gravity mingle, hovers over July 14. On Wednesday, National Day, the armies will parade on the Champs-Élysées, as they do every year, in a moment of pride and harmony. This year’s slogan is “share the flame– summarizes this hope, remembering the flame of the Resistance and the memory of Hubert Germain, the last companion of the liberation who died in October. The slogan also evokes the popular celebration and Olympic flame that traveled to Paris for the 2024 Olympics. Sports will be honored this year at the final table. The festivities will conclude with an original musical composition interpreted by singer (and reservist) Candice Parris, titled: France.
