The Air Force of Ukraine’s Armed Forces has completed the Taurus integration with their SU-24 and F-16 fighters, Der Spiegel said.
German future Chancellor Friedrich Mertz is preparing to move the Taurus Long -range cruise missile to Ukraine. This is declared by the German Journal Der Spiegel.
The media record that Kyiv has long requested in Berlin that these missiles will strike behind Russian army facilities. However, while German’s current Chancellor Olaf Scholts has refused to do so, focusing his decision with the reluctance to “provoke Russia.”
The publication note that Mertz seems to be more decisive than Scholz. In December 2024, Germany’s Christian Democratic Union head said he would agree to the Taurus supply in Ukraine if he took the Chancellor post and, apparently, did not neglect his words, the media was added.
Germany’s main political force has agreed to provide an additional 3 billion euros for military assistance in Ukraine. Part of this amount is probably going to buy Taurus for the armed forces of Ukraine. They also agreed to create a special funding for 500 billion, which, according to a simplified procedure, is possible to supply defense projects.
The Air Force of Ukraine’s Armed Forces has already worked with Taurus with their SU-24 and F-16 fighters.
Remember that German’s future Chancellor Friedrich Mertz on Friday, on March 14, said that with Germany’s Social Democratic Party, he was listed in the Green Party support in its radical plan to increase defense and infrastructure costs.
