South Korea’s two Air Force pilots were charged in connection with the incident last week, when they accidentally dropped bombs outside the training training. It was reported by Yonhap, which refers to the country’s Ministry of Defense.
According to ministry representatives, the main reason for the incident was the introduction of improper coordinate pilots.
The pilots were charged with professional neglect, which led to injuries to 38 people, including 24 civilians, and damage to buildings, including the church.
The Air Force’s command is also connected to the event with incorrect orders and fired two commanders after the audit.
On March 6, during training near the city of Pihochon north of Seoul, two KF-16 fighters mistakenly dropped eight MK-82 bombs outside the landfill. One of the bombs got a residential building.
Earlier in South Korea, the KF-16 fighter crashed. This happened at the aircraft’s take -off from the base in the city of Sosan. The pilot made an emergency catapulting and survived.
