A Russian military intelligence agent (better known as the game) was detained in Khmelnitsky, who spied on military airfields and prepared terrorist attacks in the west of Ukraine.
This was reported today, March 12, the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office SBU and Khmelnitsky.
It should be noted that the detained-30-year-old local unemployed, who was recruited in February 2025 through Telegram channels, where he was looking for “light wage”.
In exchange for money, the invaders instructed their agent to organize an online broadcast of combat activities in one of the military airfields of the region. To do this, the traitor equipped “observation” directly in his own house, which is located near the Armed Forces regime, ”says SBU.
It is noted that on the roof of a private homeowner the involved video camera with remote access for the Russian game.
The attacker also shot a hidden video of aviation equipment, moving around a military unit on a bicycle.
According to SBU, his next task of the agent was to prepare an explosion of a home explosive device near the local shopping center:
- To do this, he received detailed instructions from his Russian curator, including the production of explosives from “convenient” tools and a mobile phone;
- On this gadget, the invaders obliged his agent to establish a specialized program of remote monitoring in order to transfer it to a potential goal. Thus, the Russian intelligence service planned to blow up the SVP remotely with the participation of a person in order to eliminate it as an “unnecessary witness”.
The hostile agent was exhibited and detained in advance, preventing crimes. After that, SBU took comprehensive measures to protect the location of defense forces.
During the search in the detained:
- The mobile phones that he used to collect intelligence and communicate with the Russian GRU were deleted;
- It was found that the gadget was equipped with an explosive device for a terrorist attack.
The agent announced suspicion in the framework of two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- Part 2 of art. 111 (treason committed in martial law);
- Part 3 of art. 114–2 (unauthorized distribution of information about the movement or deployment of armed forces or other military units formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine committed in martial law).
The attacker is in custody without the possibility of collateral. He is threatened with life imprisonment with confiscation of property, they said SBU.
