NATO discusses arms supplies to Ukraine

The Secretary General of the alliance said that we are talking about a large number of air defense systems, anti-tank weapons, light, but heavy weapons, and many other types of support for Ukraine. .

The Foreign Ministers of NATO member countries at a meeting on Thursday, April 7, will discuss the further delivery of weapons to Ukraine, including heavy ones. This was announced by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg before the meeting, reports European Pravda.

“There is an urgent need to continue to support Ukraine. In our meeting with NATO Foreign Ministers later, I am sure we will discuss the need for more air defense systems, anti-tank weapons, light but heavy weapons, and many more other types of support for Ukraine, ” – said Stoltenberg.

He stressed that the allies provide weapons to ensure his right to self-defense.

Prior to that, Stoltenberg said Russia’s war against Ukraine could last for months or even years, so NATO countries should consider long-term plans for continued assistance to Ukraine.

On the eve of Stoltenberg urged to resume the supply of weapons to Ukraine.

Earlier, Stoltenberg said NATO was ready to re -equip the Armed Forces of Ukraine within a few weeks, but only to the extent that it would not lead to a full -fledged war between Russia and the Alliance.
