Putin’s Signal: If it is necessary to have Europe to achieve a ceasefire or peace agreement, Denmark is ready to create a direct part in this case, foreign minister of the country Lars Lake Rasmussen said.
Denmark is ready to send peacekeeping troops to Ukraine if there is a need to ensure peace. It was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Lars Lekke Rasmussen and the Troils’ defense minister Lund Powlesen after a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee, DR reported on Monday, March 10.
Ministers emphasized that the country supports a common approach to Europe in resolving the issue of war.
“We send a clear signal to both Putin and Washington: if a presence in Europe is required to achieve a truce or peace agreement, Denmark is ready to take the most direct part in this regard,” Rasmussen said.
Paulsen pointed out that there are no specific plans, it all depends on how events will develop.
Earlier, France and Great Britain began a discussion about a possible peacekeeping mission in Ukraine. Denmark joined this process, but emphasized that the military’s attraction should not affect the security of Baltic countries.
Rasmussen also emphasized that the war must be completed “in line” – so that Russia has no significant advantage in the hands, and Ukraine can ensure its security.
Today, the Chief of Staff of the Defense of Denmark will participate in a meeting with military leaders of European countries in Paris, where Ukraine’s support will discuss.
Remember that the commander to the head of Switzerland’s armed forces, Thomas Zyussley, said Switzerland could provide about 200 military for a future peacekeeping mission in Ukraine.
The Turkey’s Ministry of Defense then announced that the country was ready to send its troops to Ukraine, if necessary to ensure peace and stability in the region.
