A new large military aid package was formed by Germany.
The cost of this package is almost 3 billion euros. Quick financing of this assistance is currently the subject of current preliminary negotiations between CDU/CSS and SDPN. On March 6, German Minister of Defense Boris Pistorus announced a joint press conference with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine in Berlin.
The minister recalled that three systems of patriots and six anti-aircraft missile systems IRIS-T SLM and SLS have already been delivered to Ukraine. And in 2025, the Armed Forces will be provided with three more IRIS-T, SLS and three IRIS-T SLM systems. Previously, these deliveries were announced.
If we manage to finance a package of 3 billion, we also plan further air defense systems, including the corresponding missiles for the systems that we have and have already placed, and this becomes more important, especially taking into account the freezing of the supplies that the Americans have just made, he said.
Pistorius also told how Berlin strengthens the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces. He noted that only two battalions were equipped in artillery. And the new military aid will allow Ukraine to supply additional modern artillery systems, such as Panzerhaubitze 2000 or automated howitzers RCH 155.
Today it also became known that Norway decided to increase Ukraine’s assistance to Ukraine to almost $ 8 billion this year. NRK writes that the corresponding decision was made today by parliament.
The Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gar Star said that the decision to increase the support of Ukraine was made “because there is a need.” Currently, $ 3.2 billion was allocated to support by 2025.
We recall that the American media reported that US President Donald Trump ordered to suspend all military assistance to Ukraine. This applies to all military -American equipment, which is currently not in Ukraine, including weapons in transit on aircraft and ships or expects in transit zones in Poland.
Verkhovna Rada said that Ukraine has weapons for six months even without systematic support of the United States. However, they admitted that the situation can be significantly worsened. Therefore, Kyiv is working on the search for alternative sources of supply of critically important weapons.
