In 2016, Georgia officially announced that boarding and tactical groups of the Coast Guard Department of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs would join NATO forces, after which the training of such groups in accordance with the standards in analysis established by NATO. After the tactical groups successfully completed a four -year NATO review program, the North Atlantic Council recognized Georgia as an operational partner in the operation. sea ​​guard.

Recall, the European Commission decided to review the reforms implemented by Georgia to grant the status of a candidate for EU membership in 2023 instead of December this year.
