The continent requires “massive strengthening” and a sharp increase in defense capabilities, the President of the European Commission is convinced.
European Commission president Ursula Von der Lyan made a statement about the need to increase European defense capabilities following the results of the summit, organized by British prime minister Kirmer in London. SkyNews reported this on Sunday, March 2.
Von der Lyen, who also participated in Starmer’s negotiations on the war in Ukraine, insisted that it was urgent “European Revision”. He added that the continent requires “massive strengthening” and “sharp increase in defense capabilities.”
Talking to journalists at the Lancaster House, the European Commission leader said: “Member states need a larger fiscal space to increase defense costs … We want the United States to know that we are willing to protect democracy.”
Remember that in London the important conversation began – a summit of European leaders in Ukraine. It also has President Vladimir Zelensky.
