British prime minister Kir Starkmer announced a new agreement that would allow Ukraine to buy 5,000 air defense missiles, which would significantly strengthen Kyiv’s position. Sky News reported it.
In addition, the agreement will create new jobs in the United Kingdom defense sector.
“This is important for the protection of the critical infrastructure and strengthening of Ukraine,” Starmer explained.
The Ministry of Defense commented on a launching agreement of a large LMM-Rapidranger project to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense.
“We get more than 5,000 LMM (light multiles missile) and install a launcher with them,” the report said.
LMM is the high-precision interceptor missiles that effectively destroy shahed drones. They have already proven their effectiveness in the battles of 2022-2024.
The project was implemented in conjunction with Thalesuk, Ukrainian enterprises and the government of Great Britain.
This agreement is one of the largest in Ukraine history in the field of security and defense. The project of nearly $ 2 billion aims to strengthen the air defense in Ukrainian by 2030.
