The U.S. government is considering allocating $ 100 million to train Ukraine’s military to use fourth-generation fighter jets.
The US House of Representatives passed an $ 840 billion defense policy bill. About that reported on his Twitter account, Voice of America journalist Ostap Yarysh, citing a related document on Friday, July 15th.
According to him, this draft law provides for the training of Ukrainian pilots in American F-15 and F-16 fighters.
The journalist also noted that among the approved amendments there is a provision on allocating $ 100 million for the training of Ukrainian military pilots on American F-15 and F-16 aircraft.
The F-16 is a fourth-generation American multifunctional light fighter.
It is versatile, and its relatively low cost makes it the strongest fourth-generation fighter (as of June 2018, more than 4,604 such aircraft have been built).
It is also popular in the international arms market (it is in service in 25 countries). In 2019, it will be the most common combat aircraft in the world.
Recall that the first group of Ukrainian servicemen came to Britain for training, which would last several weeks.
It was previously reported that representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had learned to use British armored vehicles, including Mastiff armored personnel carriers.
