The Cabinet of Ministers approved the decisions required for signing an agreement between Ukraine and the United States on the retrieval of the minerals. On Wednesday, February 26, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.
He emphasized that according to the results of negotiations between Kiev and Washington, the agreement became “better.” He emphasized that they removed the item from “a debt of $ 500 billion” and “an unjust demand for Ukraine to give two per dollar new help to the two.”
Shmygal also noted: There is no position that the World Investment Fund created by the Agreement belongs to the United States exclusively.
The Prime Minister has introduced that in general, Ukraine in the agreement will have six main positions:

Ukraine and the United States have created a investment recovery fund, which will be jointly owned and jointly controlled by governments of both countries;

The subsoil and Ukrainian resources remain Ukrainian, they are not transferred either to the owner of the United States or to anyone else;

Ukraine will introduce 50% of future revenues from natural resource ownership;

The United States will make funding contributions in the form of funds, financial instruments and other critical properties for the restoration of Ukraine;

The funds raised by the funds will invest exclusively on Ukraine’s restoration projects;

The agreement considers Ukraine’s obligations within the European integration process.
“Therefore, after signing the agreement, Ukraine will have double benefits: we attract American investments and technologies to restore the country and accumulate a resource for the implementation of strategic projects for the sake of every Ukrainian,” Shmygal said.
Earlier, Zelensky said Ukraine and USA teams were working on a draft control agreement with rare resources. In his opinion, ultimately, a fair result should be obtained.
