Andriy Khnatov was released from the post of commander of the United Forces of the Armed Forces.
The corresponding decision on the staff was made by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. This is indicated in decree No. 148/2025, which was published on the web shat of the head of state on February 26.
To release Andriy Viktorovich Gnatov from the post of commander of the United Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the text reads.
The reasons for the release of Gnatov are still unknown.
It is known that in 2022, Gnatov headed Nikolaev’s defense and was one of the commanders responsible for the liberation of part of the Kherson region from Russian invaders. In the spring of 2023, he headed the defense of Bakhmut, who at that time was in the field of responsibility of “Khorticia” under the command of Alexander Sirski.
Gnatov was appointed commander of the United Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in June 2024. He took this position instead of General Lieutenant Yuri Sodola.
We will recall that on February 7, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed Evgeni Muyuk, the former deputy former commander of the Armed Forces, Valeraus Zaluzhn, Deputy Minister of Defense Rastima Umarov.
