Today in Ukraine, 13% of total housing stocks are damaged or destroyed, connecting more than 2.5 million households.
As of December 31, 2024, the total cost of recovery in Ukraine was estimated to be $ 524 billion in the next decade. The said data was revealed in a rapid assessment of damage and need for restoration (RDNA4), published by the World Bank on Tuesday, February 25th.
It was noted that a year ago, the cost of recovery in Ukraine was estimated at $ 486 billion.
RDNA4 rating, which covers the damage caused by nearly three years from February 24, 2022 to December 31, 2024, shows that direct damage to Ukraine has reached $ 176 billion, more than $ 152 billion in estimation of February 2024. At the same time, the most affected sectors were housing, transportation, energy, trade and industry, as well as education.
According to the current assessment, 13% of the total housing stock were damaged or destroyed, injured by more than 2.5 million households.
In the energy sector, the number of damaged or destroyed properties from the moment of the previous report increased by 70%, including power generation, delivery, distribution infrastructure and centralized heat supply.
The greatest demand is estimated in the housing sector (about $ 84 billion, or 16% of the total). This is followed by transportation (about $ 78 billion, or 15%), energy and mining industry (nearly $ 68 billion, or 13%), trade and industry (more than 64 billion dollars, or 12%), agriculture (more than $ 55 billion, or 3% 0 billion dollars, or 6%).
The report also states that the cost of just rubbing rubble is estimated to be about $ 13 billion.
