About 800 thousand people from Ukraine have already found asylum in Germany, a third of them are refugees under the age of 14.
This year, Germany intends to allocate an additional 2.4 billion euros for social benefits for Ukrainian refugees in the country. About it on Thursday, July 14, writes Reuters with reference to the Minister of Labor of the Federal Republic of Germany Hubertus Hail.
He said the German Labor Bureau last month reported an increase in the number of unemployed as Ukrainian refugees began to register with the job search bureau.
“Currently, approximately 360,000 Ukrainians are registered in the German social security system, of which 260,000 are looking for work,” he said.
The difficulties in finding suitable vacancies are due, among other things, to the fact that the majority of the candidates (over 75 per cent) are women who have to take care of children. Another major barrier to finding a job is the language barrier.
Heil noted that about 800 thousand people from Ukraine have already found asylum in Germany, 30% of them are under 14 years old.
It should be noted that since June 1, Germany has increased the amount of benefits for Ukrainian refugees. The amount of assistance for an adult is 449 euros – the amount of social assistance is compared with payments for unemployed Germans.
Social assistance to meet basic needs is received only by those who cannot afford the cost of living at the expense of their own funds and property. When evaluating, income and property to which there is access are taken into account.
Assets in Ukraine are considered impossible to sell today, so it is not taken into account.
Demographers believe that if the war continues, most refugees will not return to Ukraine.
Remember that the Scottish authorities close the admission program for three months Ukrainian refugees due to lack of suitable housing.
