Ukraine will receive a F-16 fighter from Belgium a year later.
The first of 30 Belgian aircraft was postponed at least 2025. The reason for this is the delay in the supply of the latest F-35 fighters from the United States in Belgium. This was declared the head of the General Staff of the Belgian Armed Forces Frederick Vansin, reports Lalibr.
When we get the F-35, we can gradually transfer Ukraine F-16 … We hope that we can start the supply of F-16 to Ukraine since the end of the year, he said.
At the same time, the official did not name the exact number of aircraft that will transfer the armed forces to the Air Force. He only emphasized that Belgium will be “a country that will put the F-16 most in Ukraine.”
Vansin added that the deliveries of three dozen fighters will be gradually made over the next three or four years.
We will recall that on February 6, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Raising Umarov stated that the Air Force of the Armed Forces received the first French militants of the Miraage 2000 and the F-16 aircraft from the Netherlands. These modern combat vehicles will perform combat missions, improving protection and the ability to effectively resist Russian aggression.
