The company about the distant party for Germany (AFD) and Chancellor Chancellor Alice Weidel in China is literally exalted on social networks.
One of the reasons is that before the political career, Weidel lived in Beijing and Shanghai for five years and studied the Chinese. However, Vaidel himself rarely mentions her special connections with China.
Meanwhile, the Bild investigation shows that in recent years the AFD manager has maintained unusual contacts with the SI JINPING mode.
Two independent sources in the AFD reported that Weidel regularly met with the former China Ken ambassador about once a month. These meetings were not included in her calendar and had to be secret.
Ken, who served as an ambassador of China to Germany from 2019 to 2024, met with Weidel more often than with the official representatives of the German Foreign Ministry, they say in diplomatic circles.
It is especially noteworthy that Wu -Ken was accepted not at the embassy, but in his private residence in the south -west of Berlin. There is no name at the input call, the house belongs to a private person. The territory is protected by cameras surrounded by a high fence that hangs a warning about a security dog. According to Bilda, the object contains several rottweilers. Two red Chinese lanterns hang at the entrance to the house.
In a conversation with Bilda, Vaidel admitted that she was there several times. According to her, the meetings were “perhaps every nine months.”
Weidel explains that after the outbreak of war in Ukraine, she wanted to get an idea of China’s position: “How do the Chinese assess the situation in Ukraine and relations with Russia?” Nevertheless, she did not reveal the specific details of the meetings, only saying:
The Chinese attach great importance to formalities.
When he was asked about the new Enterprise of China, Weidel replied that she was not familiar with him, but greeted him with her goal.
In response to the Bild request, China’s Embassy said that it attaches great importance to the “normal exchange of views with the parties in Germany, especially with those presented in the Bundestag.” The goal is to “strengthen the mutual understanding, friendship of Chinese German and mutually beneficial cooperation.”
It should be noted that the meetings of Weidel with Kan coincided with a spy scandal around the AFD. In April 2024, the office of the general prosecutor of the German prosecutor arrested the AFD AFD office from the Maxilian Krai, which is suspected of working in Chinese intelligence.
CDU RHODERICH KZYVEVETTER security expert called WADEL a meeting with the Chinese ambassador of a “very unusual situation”. In his opinion, “this may indicate the direct or indirect influence of China on the party leader.”
Ralph Stegner (SPD) is not surprised by AFD contacts with Beijing:
Many people in AFD maintain close ties with the authoritarian regime in China. They would like to see the same rule in Germany.
The Chinese embassy did not respond to Bild -Bild.
Vaucel admired China for a long time. Already at the age of 14, she began to study the language with an audio cassette. China’s pension system devoted her doctoral dissertation at the University of Bayroit Weidel. From 2006 to 2011, she lived in China, teaching and financial scholarship programs. Weidel collaborated with a professor at the Central Party School of CCP, as well as with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
According to some reports, at the same time she worked as a consultant, in particular for China Bank.
Then it was a country where everyone wanted to go, ”says Weidel. – Supercapitalistic system. Everyone wanted to make money.
Her supervisor Peter Verender, who died in 2017, was considered one of the leading German experts in the Chinese economy. He was one of the founders of the 2013 election alternative, which was later transformed into AFD. It was then that Weidel began her political career, which today brought her a reputation as an iron lady in China.
