Moldova signed a contract with Gazprom on terms that could be done at the time, due to Moscow’s political position.
Moldovan President Maia Sandu said Moldova needs to prepare for an energy -saving regime this winter. He said this on the air in Moldova 1, Newsmaker wrote.
According to Sandu, Moldova signed a contract with Russia’s Gazprom on terms feasible at the time, due to Moscow’s political position.
“I’m not going to sell part of the country just so we can have cheaper gas in half a year. Our country is free, and we have to abide by it. Yes, it’s hard for everyone. And at least because we We didn’t look for alternatives, we didn’t invest in energy projects because we weren’t interested then, ”Sandu said.
He rebuked opposition parties for criticizing the unprofitable contract, noting that they themselves did not sign a long -term agreement with Gazprom when they were in power and “served Moscow, not their citizens.”
“They are not so and impossible for us. Because there are no market conditions. The price is not market, but speculative. Circumstances are created to make the price of gas high,” said the President of Moldova.
According to him, now the whole world is preparing for a difficult winter, and Moldova must also prepare for it and insulate the house.
Sandu noted that the government is developing a system to support citizens in this matter and is discussing financial support in the EU.
It will be recalled that the President of Moldova said that the country needs to re -equip the army in case of Russian aggression.
Earlier, NATO said the Russian Federation had not yet threatened Moldova. Currently the Russian army is not strong enough to launch a new military operation.
