In the Netherlands, 59% of Ukraine’s refugees are already working. This was reported by the Central Statistical Bureau (CBS).
It was noted that on November 1, 2024, 59% of more than 92 thousand people aged 15 to 65 years as Ukraine’s citizenship was working in the Netherlands. This is over a year earlier: until November 1, 2023, part of such employees is 55%.
As you know, the Ukrainians who came to the Netherlands after a full -scale invasion of Russia by the end of February 2022 did not require additional work permit for work.
Ukrainians who flee from the war have a special legal status compared to other asylum applicants, who usually have no right to work in the first six months of stay in the country.

Most Ukrainians worked as a temporary worker (38%), called (24%) or had other temporary labor contracts (29%). More than half worked throughout the day (35 hours or more per week): 53%; 15% worked 30-35 hours.
Nearly 50% of Ukrainians worked in the field of business services. This area includes temporary working agencies. In addition to business services, a relatively large number of Ukrainians worked in trade, the field of transportation and hotel services (32%).
It was reported that during 2022 and 2023, part of those who worked as a temporary employee and/or in the field of business services were reduced. In 2024, this indicator remained stable. However, part of those with unlimited working contracts increased from 5% in November 2023 to 9% a year.
Remember that Poland’s prime minister Donald Tusk supported the idea of removing the money of Ukrainians who were not working and not paying taxes in Poland.
