The gas is pumped into the pipeline system on the left bank of Dniester, the volumes are sufficiently “to maintain pressure.”
Moldova began the first supply of gas to the loan of an anonymous transnistria. Deliveries started on the morning on Saturday, February 1, reports Radio Liberty.
Company director Moldovagaz Vadim Cheban said the delivery began at 8:30. The gas is pumped into the pipeline system on the left bank of Dniester, the volumes are sufficiently “to maintain pressure.”
According to him, now in transnistria there is gas, which is now available at the pipelines in Moldova. That is, these are not new purchases made by the government in the European market.
“Gas is provided at the system access points controlled by Tiraspoltransgaz,” Cheban added.
Earlier it was learned that Moldova and Transnistria joined a gas loan. The parties have signed a contract for 3 million cubic gas meters of gas to maintain the dniester’s left bank’s gas bank system. This volume is sufficient for the region for 10 days, considering the fan’s shutdown and the reduced operating mode of businesses. Moldova will provide gas to transnistria at the cost of the EU.
Remember, on January 1, Ukraine suspended Russian gas transit. The effect of the contract with Gazprom ended. Consequently, gas supplies to transnistria (left bank) by Moldova (right bank) also stopped.
Due to Russia’s gas lack of transnistria, the central heating and hot water supply of residential buildings were disabled, a fan shutdown of electricity took place, almost all industrial businesses stopped.
