The environment of the center of Odessa on January 31 led to damage to about 15 monuments.
The historical center of Odessa, which attacked the Russians on January 31, was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The shelling recorded at least 15 monuments. The mayor of Gennady Trukhanov announced a telegram.
In particular, a large destruction was recorded in the Bristol Hotel building – one of the most pronounced architectural structures of the central part of the city. The explosive wave also damaged the surrounding historical buildings. A total of about 15 cultural heritage monuments were damaged. In fact, window windows and displaced carpenters are there.
Among the injured objects:
- Philharmonic (new exchange);
- Vuchini House (19 Italian st.);
- Museum of Western and Eastern Art;
- Branch of the Literary Museum (Sikarsky House);
- buildings of the Union of Architects of Ukraine;
- Porto-Franco Bank.
The most valuable architectural and social point of view among damaged buildings is the Philharmonic (new exchange). The explosive wave knocked out a genuine carpentry of filling the main front entrance, damaged stained glass windows and internal decoration. The influence of the attack on the state of the main structures will be evaluated by experts after an additional examination, ”said the mayor of Odessa.
We will recall that in the evening of January 31, Russian invaders attacked Odessa Ballistic missiles of the Iskander type. In the central part of the city, the hotel building was destroyed, the windows were knocked out, and the facades were damaged in neighboring houses and in the premises. Seven people were injured, hospitalized.
