He said that he came to court, having overcome about 2000 kilometers and demanding a “maximum possible” punishment for the defendant. The man also reproached himself that he could not better protect his child.
The convict’s lawyer admitted that there is no evidence that someone is still responsible for the death of the child, and not his client. At the same time, he believed that the murder was committed without evil intentions, and asked for a punishment for an unintentional murder.
We recall that 9-year-old Valeria disappeared on June 3, 2024 on the way to school. Her body was found on June 11 in a forest 3 km from her house in the German city of Debeln.
