Zagreb joined allies and partners in taking a step back after publishing photos of the massacre of civilians in Ukrainian Bucha.
Croatian authorities decided to expel part of the Russian diplomatic mission from the country because of the war it waged in Ukraine. Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlich-Radman announced this on the sidelines of the meeting of Foreign Ministers of NATO member countries in Brussels on Wednesday, April 6th.
“We will do this in solidarity with NATO and the EU and in response to what is happening, to the horrific scenes from Bucha and other Ukrainian regions,” the Foreign Minister specified.
At the same time, the minister did not announce the number of Russian diplomats who will soon leave Zagreb.
Recall that earlier a similar decision was reported in a number of European countries, including France, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Greece, Denmark, Italy and others. Dozens of employees of Russian embassies were expelled from Russia.
Moscow threatened to retaliate.
