The total amount of Swedish weapons provided for the needs of Ukraine’s armed forces is over $ 5.6 billion.
Sweden will move to Ukraine the largest military assistance package from the beginning of a full -scale invasion of Russia. It costs 13.5 billion Swedish crowns – about $ 1.3 billion. This was reported by the Sweden Ministry of Defense on Thursday, January 30.
“This package will boost Ukraine’s long abilities. Sweden plans to provide nearly 1 billion Swedish crowns so that Ukraine can produce long missiles and drones,” the report said.
In addition, the package provides for an increase of double – up to 32 units – moved battle boats (CB 90) and anti -tank weapons, as well as investments to support the defense industry of Ukraine.
In total, the new assistance package consists of eight components, the largest of which is various purchases of the latest equipment, mainly Swedish and other European defense industries, for transferring to Ukraine:
-
purchases for stunning delivery of 5.9 billion kroons;
-
financial donations for 2.8 billion kroons;
-
A donation of equipment from the Sweden’s armed forces with the appropriate acquisition for a replacement of nearly 3.3 billion croat (146 trucks; 16 more CB 90 boats; 23 weapons for naval use; 1 million ammunition 12.7 mm caliber;
-
Services by the Swedish Defense Agency (FOI) and the Swedish University of Defense (FHS) worth nearly 180 million Kroons;
-
Training worth 650 million Kroons (finances to support the preparation of the armed forces for a variety of training initiatives during 2025, for example, Interflex, which conducts basic Ukrainian military training);
-
The decision on supplies that cost 400 million Swedish crowns (includes different types of steps for maintaining a given Swedish equipment).
The Sweden’s Ministry of Defense noted that this is the 18th -military assistance package in Ukraine. Thus, the total amount of packages provided since the beginning of Russia’s entire -scale invasion is about 61.9 billion Swedish crowns – more than $ 5.6 billion.
Remember that in September 2024, Sweden gave Ukraine a military assistance for 400 million euros. The money is then allocated for spare parts for JAS 39 GriPen fighters, which may be in Ukraine in the future.
And in May 2024, Sweden in Ukraine provided a military assistance package of over $ 1.2 billion. This includes radar reconnaissance aircraft and ASC 890.
