Several CEOs of former President Donald Trump’s social media app Truth Social have left the company as the site continues to struggle to catch up.
Josh Adams and Billy Boozer are tech entrepreneurs with industry experience and conservative political views, qualities Trump wants for a Twitter-like venture targeted against major social media platforms. Some of them Their services were removed after the uprising of the United States Capitol in 2021.
Adams became Chief Technology Officer of Truth Social, while Boozer was responsible for product development. Both joined the adventure last year and became a central Trump in an effort to build their own social media space that would allow them to connect directly with the public.
But Adams and Boozer appear to have left their senior roles, two sources familiar with the company. He told Reuters on Monday. Politics later confirmed the executives’ speech also based on two sources.
“Without Josh … all bets would have been suspended,” a source told Reuters, who called Adams the “mastermind” behind the technology.
Following a Reuters report, Politico released its own report stating that Lori Heyer-Bednar, Truth Social’s chief legal officer, has also resigned. Truth Social elected Heyer-Bednar’s chief legal officer in October. Bloomberg law reported.
Trump’s media and technology team did not immediately respond to a HuffPost request for comment, nor did they provide confirmation. HuffPost could not confirm the reason for the executive’s resignation, or whether they were working for the company in another role.
Truth Social’s iPhone app had a technological catastrophic launch on Feb. 20, due to low traffic, ongoing bugs, and 13 -hour delays. Since its launch, Truth Social has seen a sharp drop in signups and traffic, to nearly 60,000 new users each week, according to mobile analytics firm Sensor Tower.
“That’s 93% less than the week of its launch, when it saw 872,000 installations in the week of Feb. 21,” Sensor Tower’s Stephen Chan told The Wrap last week. “We estimate that Truth Social has reached approximately 1.2 million installs since its launch.”
Users have complained about the lack of interaction with the app and registration problems, thousands of people are still waiting for the site. Trump himself only posted this once in the app. Former Congressman Devin Nunes (R-California), now CEO of Truth Social, told Fox News In February, the app should be fully operational in the United States by the end of March.
Truth Social does not yet have an Android user app that makes up more than 40% of the U.S. market, according to Reuters.
