The country’s Foreign Minister Luis Gilberto Murillo will go to Washington to meet with American officials.
Colombia found a way out of the “impasse” that emerged on Sunday in the country’s relationship with the United States. This was stated in the official statement of the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Foreign Minister Luis Gilberto Murillo will travel to Washington in the coming hours to meet with American officials and exchange diplomatic notes and discuss the further implementation of agreements between the two sides.
“We will continue to welcome Colombians who return to the country as deportees, guaranteeing them decent conditions as citizens with the rights they deserve,” the document said.
The country’s Foreign Ministry also reported that the Colombian government under the leadership of President Gustavo Petro intends to send a presidential plane to facilitate the return of compatriots who were supposed to arrive in the country this morning from the United States on two deportation flights.
