Residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine refuse to work for the occupation administrations or leave the cities where the invaders brought the “Russian world.”
Due to the refusal of local residents to cooperate and changes in the ethnic composition of the region, the occupiers bring migrants to the TOT. This was reported today, January 26, on the website of the Center for National Resistance.
In 2024 alone, about 12 thousand foreign citizens and stateless persons were registered for migration in the occupied Lugansk region. For comparison: at the end of 2023 there were about 3,800 such persons,” the report says.
In addition, according to the Eastern Human Rights Group, over the 11 months of 2024, 109 applications for invitations to enter the Russian Federation were accepted, 101 visas of various categories were issued and extended, and 516 applications for a residence permit were satisfied.
However, even such actions do not solve the key problems of the region, such as mistrust in the occupation authorities, lack of infrastructure and personnel crisis, the CNS notes.
In fact, realizing that the local population will continue to resist, the occupiers are carrying out ethnic replacement in the region. Instead of Ukrainians leaving or being deported by the Russian Federation, terrorists are bringing in migrants from Central Asian countries or Russians from depressed regions of Russia, the CNS adds.
