This year, Easter will be celebrated on the same day according to the Gregorian and Julian calendar – April 20.

Pope Francis emphasized, at the end of the 58th Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, that the Catholic Church is ready to accept a common date for the celebration of Easter. PAP reported it.

This year, Easter will be celebrated on the same day according to the Gregorian and Julian calendar – April 20.

“I repeat my call that this rapprochement serves as a call to all Christians to take a decisive step towards unity on the issue of a common date for Easter,” the pontiff said.

Pope Francis added that the Catholic Church is ready to “accept the date that everyone wants.”

Let’s remember that in early January the Pope appointed the first woman, nun Simone Brambilla, as prefect of the department responsible for all Catholic religious orders.
