Germany, as part of the sanctions against Georgia, has banned the Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs and officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs from entering the country. This was reported by Formula News with reference to sources.
It was noted that on December 31, 2024, Germany introduced entry visa restrictions against nine people responsible for violence against protesters and opposition representatives in Georgia.
The list includes the head of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri.
Also under sanctions are Vazha Siradze (head of the patrol police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia), Zviad Kharazishvili (head of the Department of Special Assignments), Mirza Kezevadze (deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia), Teimuraz Kupatadze (head of the criminal police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia), Lasha Jokhadze (head of the Main Directorate of Patrol Police Ministry of Internal Affairs), Teimuraz Kaladadze (head of the regional police Kakheti), Lasha Salukvadze (Head of the Vake-Saburtalo Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia), Dito Samkharadze (Member of Parliament from the Georgian Dream).
