Fire at a resort in Turkey: The death toll has risen to 79

12 people remain undergoing treatment in medical institutions. 39 victims have been released from hospitals.

The death toll from a fire at a ski resort in Turkey has risen to 79. This was announced by the chief prosecutor’s office of Bolu province, Ukrinform reported on Thursday, January 23.

“The DNA test showed that three more people died in the fire at the hotel. Thus, the death toll from the incident rose to 79 people,” the prosecutor’s office said.

The Turkish Ministry of Health said 39 victims had been discharged from hospitals. 12 people remain under treatment.

The number of arrests related to the fire rose to 11. The deputy mayor for fire services and the fire chief of Bolu municipality were detained.

We remind you that a fire occurred in a ski resort in Turkey on the night of January 21. At that time, there were 238 guests and employees of the hotel establishment. Initially, 10 deaths were reported, but later the number of victims increased dramatically.
