The 231st battalion of the 128th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Troops “Dike Pole” came out in support of their ex-battalion commander Dmitry Ryumshin, who was detained by the DBR on January 20.
From April 23, 2022 to March 18, 2023, Dmitry Ryumshin commanded our battalion.
During this time, he proved himself to be an exceptionally demanding, disciplined and experienced commander. His ability to quickly navigate difficult situations and make informed decisions has repeatedly saved the lives of our fellow men. His determination and professionalism allowed our battalion to complete many difficult tasks in the hottest spots of the front. Under his leadership, we went from forming a battalion to a real combat-ready unit capable of performing the most complex tasks.
Dmitry Ryumshin has always been for us not only a commander, but also a mentor, friend and role model, the battalion emphasized.
They suggested that the criminal prosecution of Ryumshin may be biased, and demand an objective and quick investigation, a thorough study of the facts of this case.
On January 21, the Pechersky Court of Kyiv began choosing a preventive measure for the ex-commander of the 155th brigade, Dmitry Ryumshin. As a Radio Liberty correspondent reports, the court decided to hold the hearing behind closed doors.
Law enforcement officers suspect the ex-commander of the brigade of inaction. The investigation claims that Ryumshin allowed mass protection of his subordinates; some cases occurred in the EU. Ryumshin stated that he does not admit his guilt.
The DBR and the SBU detained on January 20 the former commander of the 155th separate mechanized brigade, Colonel Dmitry Ryumshin. According to the investigation, the commander “did not react to offenses in his unit, including the unauthorized abandonment of the military unit by his fighters.”
Earlier, the 125th Brigade commented on the detention of ex-brigade commander Artur Gorbenko.
In the Kharkov region we held a huge piece of the border, we fought to the death in the first hours of the invasion.
There were few of us, we had little ammunition, we had little support, but we fought, fought under the command of the brigade commander! Do military generals and battalion commanders, officers and soldiers deserve such treatment? Is this how the news should sound? Has the court already established guilt? Obviously not.
We believe in Justice. We believe that we will be able to tell the real truth about the events of the Kharkov region in court. In the meantime, we are fighting. We fight the enemy on the front line. And not in the rear, noted the brigade.
Gorbenko was also supported by the mayor of Lvov, Andrey Sadovy.
