Today, January 21, at about nine in the morning, a Russian drone hit a checkpoint in Kupyansk, where police officers of the Main Directorate of Police in the Kharkov region and the combined detachment of the Luhansk department were on duty.
Three police officers were wounded, as well as a civilian man and woman; the counter-attacks were passing the checkpoint in a car at the time of the impact. The head of the Investigation Department of the Kharkov Region Police, Sergei Bolvinov, announced this on his Facebook page.
As a result of the impact:
- A 64-year-old local resident was injured in both legs;
- A sergeant and a lieutenant from the patrol police response department of the Kupyansky regional department suffered from debris injuries;
- A lieutenant from the Lugansk department has an acubarotrauma.
But the Russians did not rest on this and used the tactics of repeated attacks:
- The Lightning’s double strike occurred as paramedics arrived on the scene. The ambulance was damaged, but the team managed to leave the scene and take out the wounded woman;
- after the fourth hit, the checkpoint burst into flames, then two more explosions were heard; according to preliminary data, these were also Molniya-2 drones.
Despite numerous attacks, the police continue to work. At the site of the hits, we collect debris and evidence of Russian war crimes,” Bolvinov added.
