The future national security adviser of the newly elected US President, Mike Waltz, said that Donald Trump is determined to end the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine.
The future US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz in the Trump administration on Sunday, January 19, said that on the path to ending the war in Ukraine there remain three issues that, in his opinion, should be key, wrote of CBS.
He clarified that these questions are related to possible negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian invaders.
The first question is who should be at the negotiating table, the second is how to bring them to the negotiating table, the third is what the deal should cover.
“The conflict must stop, and President Trump is clear about that and he’s determined to do that,” Waltz said.
According to one American official, the war in Ukraine “combines the methods of warfare from World War I,” and also carries the risk of escalating into World War III, as Russia draws troops from North Korea.
“It was World War I trench warfare, really a meat grinder, with people marching across the open fields of eastern Ukraine. But with the escalating consequences of World War III,” Waltz said.
US President-elect Donald Trump has promised to end the war in Ukraine and prevent World War III and says he and his team are very close to it.
It was previously reported that Trump’s entourage was hoping for a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin “in the coming days or weeks.” Preparations for their meeting are also currently underway.
