In Kyiv today, January 19, an explosion was heard in the studio of one of the radio stations.
This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv police.
It has been previously established that an army fuse, located in the room as an exhibit, exploded. As a result of the explosion, a woman born in 1999 was injured and was hospitalized, the police said.
Based on this fact, criminal proceedings have been initiated under Article 263 of the Criminal Code – illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives. The circumstances of the incident are being clarified.
The police did not specify which radio station they were talking about.
The Ukrainskaya Pravda publication, citing a source in law enforcement agencies, writes that an explosion occurred today at 10.50 in the Central House of Officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Grushevsky Street.
During the broadcast, the radio presenter of the Army FM channel picked up the VP-9 bottom fuse and began to manipulate it in her hands, resulting in an explosion. The source noted that this fuse was previously brought to the studio by one of the invited guests of the military as a used mock-up of ammunition, the publication said.
It is noted that the injured woman has shrapnel wounds to her arm and abdomen; her condition is stable.
