Law enforcement officers suspended the illegal sale of weapons in four regions of Ukraine.
Within 24 hours, SBU and National Police operatives detained 15 defendants who were trying to organize the illegal sale of military weapons. Automatic weapons, grenade launchers, grenades and explosives were confiscated from the attackers. The Security Service of Ukraine reported this on Facebook on January 19.
In the Kyiv region, a 31-year-old local resident and four of his accomplices were detained who were selling “captured” weapons taken from areas of former battles in the East. They sold these weapons because of personal connections in criminal circles.
Also in the Kyiv region, two more criminal groups were neutralized that were trying to clandestinely sell a Kalashnikov machine gun and an RPG-7V hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher with shots and cartridges of various calibers.
In Odessa, security forces detained a businessman trying to sell grenades and improvised explosive devices. Almost 1 kg of TNT, self-produced explosives and a batch of F-1 and RGD grenades were seized from the attacker.
And in Chernigov, law enforcement officers detained three members of a criminal group who were looking for clients for the sale of automatic weapons and explosives.
In Lutsk, a local resident got burned during the sale of military guarantors in order to “cover his tracks” and demanded payment through “anonymous” payment systems.
The detainees have already been informed of suspicion under Art. 263 (illegal handling of firearms, ammunition or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. While the suspects are in custody, they face up to seven years in prison.
Let us recall that a lawyer from Kyiv recruited new agents for the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense, and subsequently defended already exposed enemy henchmen in the courts.
